Asha Brown is the Founder and Executive Director of We Are Diabetes (WAD), where she works with families, patients, and health professionals across the USA. She uses her personal experiences with ED-DMT1 to offer hope and support to those still struggling. She also establishes relationships with eating disorder facilities and diabetes organizations across the county to help connect people to appropriate care. Asha presents at national conferences such as NEDA, AADE, and JDRF. She writes for Diabetes Health, Diabetes Daily, Glu, Insulin Nation, dlife, DiabetesMine, and other websites. She was a member of the ADA Woman and Diabetes Subcommittee and is a member of Diabetes Advocates and BEDA.
Amy Gabbert-Montag is passionate about debunking the common myths and misconceptions about eating disorders and treatment. Amy has a bachelor's degree in Women's Studies and intends to return to school to pursue a master's degree in a health related field. Prior to working with We Are Diabetes she was an active volunteer for the National Eating Disorders Association.
Tom Bregmann is both a business executive and consultant, with experience spanning more than 30 years. He is also the co-founder and executive director of the non-profit Juvenile Diabetes No Limits Foundation. Tom's expertise includes developing and executing business strategies, working with entrepreneurs and small businesses; and creating programs for building business awareness. He has Internet, sales, marketing and media backgrounds. He is a partner with The Network Connect, an organization connecting small and growing businesses to business leaders and those in the financial community.
Marcia Meier BAN, RN, CDE is a Program Manager of Patient Services at the International Diabetes Center at Park Nicollet. She is also one of the leading team members of the Diabetes Program at Melrose Center (a program she helped to establish in 2005). Marcia has presented on the preferred treatment approach for ED-DMT1 at AADE, the London International Conference and many of the International Diabetes Center’s educational symposia. Her work on this complicated dual diagnosis has been published in Diabetes Spectrum and Practical Diabetology.
Daniele Hargenrader, aka the Diabetes Dominator, is a diabetes coach, nutritionist, health, wellness & fitness expert, bestselling author, international speaker, and certified personal trainer. She helps individuals from all walks of life to think, eat, and move in ways that allow them to achieve a quality of health and life they previously thought unattainable. She has presented at Fortune 100 companies and top ranked hospitals, and has dedicated herself to teaching people how to live the life they imagined through optimal health and the power of choice.
Dr. Ann Goebel-Fabbri
Dr. Ann Goebel-Fabbri worked for 16 years as a clinical psychologist and researcher in the Behavioral and Mental Health Unit at Joslin Diabetes Center. She currently runs her own practice in which she treats individual patients and consults to healthcare teams and organizations to help them improve their work with diabetes patients with and without eating disorders. She is an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Goebel-Fabbri’s work is published in numerous research papers and academic book chapters, and she regularly speaks at professional conferences. She teaches health professionals about psychosocial aspects of diabetes, especially eating disorders and behavioral weight management. Her clinical and research activities have been featured in the popular media, including BBC Radio, Good Morning America, National Public Radio, Huffington Post, CNN, and the New York Times.
Daniel Brown is a computer wizard who enjoys lukewarm food and sleeping. His expertise and background in programming and website development are the only reason that We Are Diabetes has a website that functions. He is the "yin" to his wife Asha’s "yang." He did not write his own bio.
