Dr. Ann Goebel-Fabbri

Dr. Ann Goebel-Fabbri is a clinical psychologist whose research focuses on the relationship between diabetes and eating disorders. There are very few health professionals doing this so her work is greatly appreciated.

Dr. Ann has a private practice in Boston, MA where she uses her unique training in health psychology to help her patients cope with the emotional side of chronic illness. Her specialized experience with diabetes and eating disorders is the result of working with adolescents and adults at the Joslin Diabetes Center for 15 years, as well as her world renowned published research on ED-DMT1. Her treatment and research has covered the spectrum of eating problems from anorexia, bulimia, and insulin restriction to binge eating and obesity.

During her time at Joslin, Dr. Ann spearheaded a collaboration between Joslin and an eating disorder treatment center in the Boston area, and led the creation of a staff training program for this facility to help them better address the unique needs of their patients. She is the Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and writes a monthly blog for Psychology Today called Weighty Matters. Dr. Ann’s work has been featured on NPR, BBC Radio, Good Morning America, CNN, Associated Press, USA Today, Huffington Post, only to name a few! Some of her articles and publications can be found here.
